5 Irish SMEs to receive a share of €104m of Horizon 2020 funds

Companies in Limerick, Cork, Clare, Dublin and Galway are among 71 small and medium-sized companies (SMEs) from 22 countries that have been selected for funding in the latest round of the Horizon 2020 SME Instrument Phase 2.

A total of 1,534 applications were submitted for consideration for the January 2017 deadline and 5 Irish SMEs were among those chosen to co-ordinate projects.

The SMEs will receive in total just over €10m of the €104m - almost 10%.

Spanish SMEs were the most successful with 19 companies selected for funding but Ireland shared second spot with Germany with five companies.
